JSMF Maria del Rio-Chanona

Inequality is at its highest in history and it may increase further due to labor automation. As new technologies arrive, some occupations are destroyed, but others are created (e.g., elevator operators and data scientists). However, since the new jobs require different skills than the old ones, workers with particular abilities may suffer adverse consequences. To mitigate negative effects we must investigate which skills are becoming obsolete and predict which skills will employers demand in the future.
