Ola Ali, PhD Candidate at the Complexity Science Hub

Ola Ali has been a PhD candidate at the Complexity Science Hub since 2022, researching the dynamics of migrant networks with the aim of identifying the driving factors of migration and examining its impact on the social, economic and political structures of both origin and destination countries.

Through the application of network theory, statistical physics, and data science methods, Ola hopes to provide valuable insights that can inform policy-making and promote holistic, equitable and effective solutions to migration-related issues.

Ola holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Cairo University and a master’s degree in the physics of complex systems from the Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems, in Spain. Her Master’s thesis investigated the economic impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic through the lens of network science.

In addition to her academic background, Ola also has experience in business and organizational development.
