Anja Böck has been Head of Communications at the Complexity Science Hub Vienna since November 2023. Prior to that, she had already spent a year working in the communication department at CSH.

Anja holds a master’s degree in biology, with a focus on anthropology, primatology and behavioral science. She also graduated from the Journalism and Media Academy of the Austrian Journalists’ Club.

Since her graduation, she has been working as a freelance science and travel journalist for Austrian and German media like Der Standard, Terra Mater Magazine, Universum Magazine, among others.

Furthermore, she has been writing in the area of public relations for the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU). In 2018, she was awarded the Austrian Magazine Prize.

From 2018 to 2022, she worked as a teacher at a middle school in Vienna as part of the Teach for Austria program.
