Dirk Helbing

Dirk Helbing is Professor of Computational Social Science at the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences and associated at ETH Zurich’s Department of Computer Science. His current studies discuss the digital society, smart cities, as well as challenges and opportunities of digital democracies. Among others, he coordinated the doctoral program “Engineering Social Technologies for a Responsible Digital Future“ at TU Delft. He is also known for having led the FuturICT initiative. Furthermore, he is an elected member of the German Academy of Sciences and a member of the External Faculty of the Complexity Science Hub.
