Tobias Batik

Former Researcher

Tobias Batik has been working as a data visualization specialist at the Complexity Science Hub since March 2023.

He is interested in research projects at the intersection of computational geometry and human perception. In particular, he worked on algorithms for schematic graph visualizations, shape-shifting haptic VR devices, new approaches for digital fonts, and interactive visualizations of large datasets.

Tobias received a bachelor’s degree in media informatics and visual computing as well as a master’s degree in media and human-centered computing from the Technical University of Vienna. He also has experience in graphic design.

Visuals

HiST-LLM is a LLM benchmark and dataset focused on PhD-level historical knowledge. This visualization displays the categories and sub-categories of our data, from the Seshat Databank.

Cities Morphology is an interactive tool for exploring city shapes. It provides insight into the effects of individual city parameters on travel distance and travel-related energy consumption.
