In the project, the CSH created weekly short-term forecasts on the development of new COVID-19 infections and hospitalisation in intensive care and normal wards. This included the development and adaptation of a model to estimate a forecast of the epidemic progression of the SARS-CoV-2 disease. The model was applied at the federal and state level. Development scenarios (“Corona progression forecasts”) were calculated taking ongoing consideration of coordinated current model parameters. The results were made available on an ongoing basis (usually once per week).
