The development of the Complexity Science Hub was strongly supported by the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK). The suport made the following possibe:

• Establishment of the CSH as a center for the science of complex systems in Austria;
• Development of methods for the systematic use of large, high-dimensional data sets, in particular in the areas of health care and economics;
• Building an infrastructure for processing large-scale data (including real-time processing of heterogeneous data, use of methods from complexity science and age-based modeling);
• Creating the necessary attractiveness to bring internationally recognized researchers for complex systems to Austria.
