Peter Yen

Peter Yen @ private, presents at Econophysics Colloquium 2024 at Complexity Science Hub

Peter Yen is a senior research fellow in SPMS, NTU. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2015 in condensed matter physics from National Central University (NCU) in Taiwan. At NCU, besides condensed matter physics, he also learned non-equilibrium statistical mechanics, biophysics, and nonlinear dynamics, which formed the foundations of his interests on complex adaptive systems. He is now applying topological approaches (Persistent Homology, and Topological Data Analysis) to the study of financial markets, to understand topological features that are significant during market crashes. Before he joined NTU, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at NCU, and National Sun Yat-Sen University (NSYSU), Taiwan. His research focus at NSYSU was using first-principle methods to calculate exotic and strange properties in multiferroic systems, magnetic materials, 2D materials, and topological materials, where topology also comes into play.
