Niklas Reisz

Former Researcher

Niklas Reisz was a PhD student at the Complexity Science Hub.

He graduated with a master’s degree in technical physics from TU Wien in 2018. In his master’s thesis, he established a Monte Carlo model of head scatter effects in a novel computed tomography device. He also completed a bachelor program “Business, Economics and Social Sciences” at the Vienna University of Economics and Business with an emphasis on innovation, open source software, and crypto-economics.

Niklas’ research interests include science of science, social networks, process mining, and recommender systems. At the CSH, he has developed models for how scientific papers attract attention, how scientific discoveries are sometimes re-used for different purposes, and how music popularity is driven by social interactions. He has built multiple software applications to track and analyze information flows in organizations and used them for social experiments.
