Markus Müller is president of the Medical University of Vienna since 2015. He studied medicine in Vienna, at the University of Göteborg and the University of Florida.

His special research interests are the development of clinical microdialysis, of clinical vaccines (Ebola, Lyme, Ross River, Alzheimer, H5N1, H1N1 Influenza) and of PET imaging tracers. Markus Müller published more than 250 articles in medical journals like the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet Inf Dis, British Medical Journal, or Nature Medicine.
