Jiaying Chen was a PhD candidate at the Section for Science of Complex Systems at the Medical University of Vienna and at the Complexity Science Hub until June 2022.

Jiaying received her MA degree in mathematics from Boston University. Prior to her PhD she had worked as a data analyst at Brigham and Womens’ Hospital in Boston. During this time, Jiaying collaborated with physicians for nutritional epidemiological studies.

Jiaying’s research interest is data analysis and epidemiology. She is currently working on a collaborative project with Karolinska Institute in mental health and social integration in refugee youth, supervised by Peter Klimek (CSH).
