Jesús Crespo Cuaresma is professor of economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU), director of Economic Analysis at the Wittgenstein Centre for Demography and Global Human Capital (WIC), as well as and research scholar at the International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), and research consultant at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) in Vienna. In addition, he is a visiting professor at the Norwegian School of Economics.
Jesús studied economics at the University of Sevilla (Spain) and got his PhD at the University of Vienna. He has published numerous articles in renowned scientific journals, including Science, Scientific Reports, Demography, Journal of Applied Econometrics, European Economic Review, Global Environmental Change or World Bank Economic Review. His research interests are in the fields of applied econometrics and macroeconomics, where he has contributed to assessing problems related to model uncertainty, the link between human capital formation and economic development and the estimation of the scope of international economic policy spillovers, just to mention a few of his recent publications.
