Gordana has been a PhD candidate at the Complexity Science Hub since April 2024. She is working on the research project “Science of Science”,  which aims to identify patterns among scientific networks, society, and the economy. Her passion lies in developing computational models and analyses to understand how scientific activity and researcher mobility affect society and the economy.

Gordana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Montenegro, along with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Ljubljana.

Her Master’s thesis focused on online algorithms with advice for solving the vector packing problem. Furthermore, she delved into how advice could enhance other combinatorial computational problems closely related to the “packing problem.”

In addition to her academic background, Gordana boasts experience in software development. She is motivated to support women in breaking gender stereotypes within STEM and serves as a mentor on the STEM4ALL regional platform for Europe and Central Asia.
