Scenario Planning for an A(G)I Future

In this talk, Anton Korinek will examine the economic and societal impacts of rapidly advancing artificial intelligence. Drawing on recent research in AI capabilities and economic modeling, Anton Korinek will discuss several distinct economic scenarios ranging from business-as-usual to transformative AGI developments as well as their policy implications. The presentation will analyze these scenarios’ effects on output, wages, and labor markets, and address critical economic policy challenges including labor displacement, education reform, market regulation, macroeconomic stability, and international AI governance. This scenario planning exercise aims to inform economic and social policies to navigate the complexities of an A(G)I-powered future.
