Modeling Cultural Exchange and Innovation with Pólya’s Urns

This seminar explores the critical role of cultural interaction in driving innovation. We will introduce a powerful modeling tool,
the Polya Urn with Triggering (UMT), which has been successful in capturing the dynamics of innovation processes. We will then utilize this UMT framework to investigate how interactions between multiple cultures influence their development and how innovations from one culture spread and take root in others.
