Atushi Ishikawa

Atushi Ishikawa is a professor at Kanazawa Gakuin University, Faculty of Information Engineering, focusing on econophysics and computational social science. He has been engaged in research on the statistical laws observed in firm-size variables, such as sales and number of employees, and more recently, he is interested in the statistical laws observed in earthquakes and in the trajectory of human movement. He received his PhD in 1994 from the Department of Physics, Graduate School of Science, Osaka University. He then worked as a JSPS Research Fellow at the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics, Kyoto University, where he was involved in theoretical particle physics research. He then arrived at Kanazawa Gakuin University in 1997.
