Konstantin Schumacher

Former Researcher

Konstantin was a research assistant on the project “Opportunity in Crisis: Empowering Ukrainian Refugees to Rebuild the Ukrainian Economy” until the End of September 2024.

In this role, he was responsible for collecting and analyzing data on the obstacles Ukrainian refugees faced when integrating into the German and Austrian labor markets. Additionally, he facilitated outreach to German companies interested in participating in the project.

Prior to this, Konstantin worked as a research assistant on the EU-funded AUTHLIB project, which focused on the rise of neo-authoritarianism in Europe and the liberal democratic response. His work within AUTHLIB centered on analyzing the foreign policy objectives of Austria’s Freedom Party (FPÖ).

Konstantin was in his third year of studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) at Central European University (CEU). In September 2024, he was set to begin a semester abroad at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. He was also deeply passionate about development policy, a field he specialized in during his internship at the parliamentary office of Gabriela Heinrich, Vice-Chairperson of Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD).
