Luigi Riso

Luigi Riso @ private, speaker at Econophysics Colloquium 2024 at Complexity Science Hub

Luigi Riso earned his Ph.D. in Modeling and Data Science from the University of Turin in March 2021. His academic focus has primarily centered on applied statistics, with a particular emphasis on Economics and Finance. Throughout his academic journey, Luigi has explored various statistical models, applying them in diverse contexts and utilizing different types of data. His research interests predominantly revolve around dimensional reduction methods, multivariate statistics, machine learning, and econometrics.

During his doctoral studies, Luigi developed an algorithm aimed at automating the feature selection process. Additionally, he formulated a method for estimating drift, which characterizes the evolution of relationships between variables over time. Both of these algorithms were developed with the support of graphical models.

Currently, Luigi holds the position of Research Fellow in Econometrics at the University Catholic of Sacred Heart in Milan.
