Wenli Du has been a Visiting Researcher at the Complexity Science Hub since September 2026.
Her research at CSH focuses on economic complexity, with particular attention to how firms develop and sustain new export products. Using product-space and network-based approaches, she investigates how the position of products within economic networks influences firms’ diversification paths and the survival of newly introduced products.
She is a PhD candidate in the MERC Doctoral Programme at the Scuola Superiore Meridionale in Naples, Italy. Her broader research examines economic complexity across different geographical and organizational scales, ranging from regions and cities to firms. Her work explores how measures of economic complexity can be used to understand diversification, economic development, and resilience.
