Vinzenz Koning is an assistant professor in the Energy and Resources group of the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development of Utrecht University. His research focuses on energy system modelling and energy technology assessment. He employs a wide range of computational approaches to study energy systems and to make scenarios of the energy transition. Specifically, his research is centered around three themes: 1) The analysis of behaviour and decision making, and its integration into energy models. 2) The role of green hydrogen in our future energy system, and 3) Interconnections between the transformations of materials production and the energy system. Before joining Utrecht University, he was a consultant at Deloitte and obtained a PhD degree in theoretical physics from Leiden University.
