Vincent van der Walde is an MSc student in Social Data Science at Central European University (CEU), Vienna.
His research focuses on formalizing the mechanisms behind the emergence and evolution of large-scale organizations and complex social forms. As a visitor in the “Social Complexity and Collapse” research group, he uses agent-based modeling to investigate the dynamics of agrarian state formation.
Vincent applies network science and complex systems theory to foundational questions in social science, aiming to better understand the structural risks and challenges faced by modern societies.
He holds a BA in Political Science from McGill University and an MA in Political Theory from the University of Toronto.
