Tina Šfiligoj has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Complexity Science Hub since August 2026.

Her research lies at the intersection of complex networks and public transport systems. It is driven by the conviction that planning and designing public transport for sustainable, livable cities requires understanding the full complexity of transport systems.

In her work, Tina connects physics, applied mathematics, and data science methods with open problems in public transport research and planning, in particular the accessibility and resilience of transport networks. She explores what richer mathematical representations, such as multilayer networks and hypergraphs, can reveal about the function of these systems that simpler models miss, with a particular interest in the interaction between their topology and geography. She holds a BSc in Physics and a PhD in Transport Science, both from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
