Rayan Succar

Rayan Succar, PostDoc at the Complexity Science Hub (c) Anja Böck

Rayan Succar joined the Complexity Science Hub as a Postdoctoral Researcher in July 2026.

His research focuses on the foundations of complex systems, theoretical network science, and the development of data science tools for inferring the structure of complex systems from large datasets, drawing on dynamical systems theory, control theory, and statistical physics.

He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the Lebanese American University (2021). He completed his PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at New York University in 2026. His dissertation, “Data-Driven Complex Systems: From Violence to Network Dynamics,” addressed theoretical problems in network science alongside empirical challenges in complex urban systems and violence in the United States.
