A Day of Exploring Mobility with Curious Young Minds

The CSH was part of the first Innovation Summit, where we had the joy of exploring our research together with children.

It was an absolute pleasure to spend a full day with schoolchildren from Vienna’s 10th district, talking about mobility and quizzing together.

How many people worldwide live in cities like you do? How do they get around? And why does it even matter? With the help of our fantastic visualizer, Liuhuaying Yang, and research by Rafael Prieto-Curiel, the children had the chance to explore cities around the globe during the first-ever Innovation Summit at Vienna’s CAPE 10.

For us, it was incredibly exciting to gain insights into their views of the world. We hope we managed to spark curiosity about science in some of them—and maybe we’ll see them at the Complexity Science Hub in a few years!

More about the research:

The study “ABC of mobility” by Rafael Prieto-Curiel and Juan Pablo Ospina was published in Environment International (doi: 10.1016/j.envint.2024.108541).
