Masuma Sultani

Masuma Sultani joined the Complexity Science Hub as a Research Assistant.

Masuma is a research assistant at the Complexity Science Hub for the project “Opportunity in Crisis – Empowering Ukrainian Refugees to Rebuild the Ukrainian Economy.” This project is particularly exciting for her because, as someone with a refugee background, she is deeply interested in the topics of migration and the labor market. She is passionate about exploring and addressing the complex challenges faced by refugee communities in Europe, particularly in the context of economic integration and employment opportunities. This project perfectly aligns with her interests and the research she is dedicated to.

She is in her 4th year of studying PPE (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics) at Central European University (CEU). Her academic journey has provided her with a strong interdisciplinary foundation, enabling her to approach issues from multiple perspectives. This practical experience is incredibly valuable, enhancing her understanding and application of theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts. Migration and economic development are topics she is particularly focused on and intends to center her bachelor thesis around.

This project involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including refugee organizations, companies, and government bodies, to foster meaningful partnerships and drive impactful initiatives. As a team, they aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice, contributing to the development of effective solutions that support the integration and empowerment of refugee communities while also contributing to the reconstruction of the Ukrainian economy.
