Martin Nöllenburg
Martin Nöllenburg holds a full professorship in the Algorithms and Complexity group at TU Wien, which he joined as a tenure-track professor in 2015. Prior to that, he was a postdoc at UC Irvine, CA, USA, and the head of a Young Investigator Group and Associate Fellow at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany.

He obtained his Habilitation, PhD, and Master’s degrees in Computer Science at KIT/Universität Karlsruhe.
Martin’s research interests lie in the intersection of graph algorithms, computational geometry, graph drawing, and data visualization. He is particularly interested in interdisciplinary work that brings algorithmic optimization and visualization to complex networks and to spatial and time-dependent data, with recent applications ranging from biological network layouts and cartographic labeling to the visualization of dynamic higher-order networks.
Martin has published more than 200 papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings. He serves as a co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Graph Algorithms and Applications, and is currently chairing the Steering Committee of the International Symposium on Graph Drawing and Network Visualization.
