Konstantin Schumacher

Konstantin Schumacher joined the Complexity Science Hub as a Research Assistant.

Konstantin is currently serving as a research assistant on the project “Opportunity in Crisis: Empowering Ukrainian Refugees to Rebuild the Ukrainian Economy,” led by Ljubica Nedeloska.

In this role, he is responsible for collecting and analyzing data on the obstacles Ukrainian refugees face when integrating into the German and Austrian labor markets. Additionally, he facilitates outreach to German companies interested in participating in the project.

Prior to this, Konstantin worked as a research assistant on the EU-funded AUTHLIB project, which focused on the rise of neo-authoritarianism in Europe and the liberal democratic response. His work within AUTHLIB centered on analyzing the foreign policy objectives of Austria’s Freedom Party (FPÖ).

Konstantin is currently in his third year of studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) at Central European University (CEU). In September, he will begin a semester abroad at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. He is also deeply passionate about development policy, a field he specialized in during his internship at the parliamentary office of Gabriela Heinrich, Vice-Chairperson of Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD).
