Johann Stockinger has been a PhD candidate in the Digital Currency Ecosystems research group at the Complexity Science Hub since February 2026.

His research interests cover a broad range of information security topics, with a particular emphasis on digital forensics and the development of novel automation and detection mechanisms.

Drawing on more than a decade of experience in information security, including leadership roles at Deutsche Telekom Security – where he led the Digital Forensics & Incident Response and Threat Hunting & Intelligence teams—he combines deep industry expertise with innovative approaches to addressing current security challenges.
