Ilias has been a PhD candidate at the Complexity Science Hub since September 2026.
Within CSH, he’s part of the Health Across Species team, where his research focuses on the mathematical modeling of vector-borne diseases. His research interest lie at the intersection of complexity science, network analysis, and epidemiology, with a particular focus on the mathematical modeling of infectious diseases.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Patras and a master’s degree in Biostatistics and Health Data Science from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In his master’s thesis he worked with respondent-driven sampling data to reconstruct networks among people who inject drugs, examining how individuals’ position within these networks related to Hepatitis C transmission and treatment uptake.
