CSH and AustriaTech are organizing a one-day workshop on the future of mobility to connect current research with stakeholder perspectives. We aim to pursue a two-pronged approach, structuring our discussions in an equal mix of big questions and practical matters. This will allow academics to focus their research and transportation stakeholders to better understand how specific issues they are working on fit into the larger landscape of sustainable urban mobility. A key focus will be to characterize what we know and what we don’t know. We aim to have practical discussions on problems related to measuring travel demand and behavior, current methods and datasets, and gaps in data availability that hinder research and policymaking. Our ultimate aims are to map research questions to data problems and come up with new, innovative ways to enhance research in urban mobility with clear practical implications.
