Over the past three years, Liuhuaying and her team have run visualization workshops that invited experts from other domains—such as design, art, and journalism—to engage with their complexity science research.

The resident scientists — Eddie Lee, Dániel Kondor, Elma Dervic, Jan Bachmann, Samuel Martin-Gutierrez, Lisette Espín-Noboa, and Daniele Barolo — presented their papers and datasets as concrete challenges, generating discussions, reflections, and creative approaches. These sessions have provided valuable insights into how others perceive our research, what resonates, and where new opportunities lie.

In this talk, Liuhuaying will share key lessons from these workshops, introduce what the CSH Visuals team does and how CSH researchers can collaborate with them, and highlight potential directions beyond web-based visualization that could be explored in the future.
