Elise Cutts, Journalist in Residence – Allow me to Introduce myself
“Hi, I’m Elise. I’m the new science journalist in residence at CSH. You’ve seen the introductory emails. But the question remains: why did the ERC give me money to hang out at your institute for 4 months? In this presentation, I’ll clear up who I am, what I do, and what exactly I’m doing here at the CSH, and let you know how to get involved if you’re interested in sharing your research or supporting my work on complexity science. I’m aiming to keep this presentation on the shorter side to leave plenty of time for questions, so now’s your chance to ask all your burning science journalism questions — like why science news headlines can end up sensationalized, what the difference is between science journalism and science communication, or why science journalists often won’t let you see drafts of their articles before publication.”
