Who are Africa’s migrants today? Who chooses Europe as a destination? Why and how are Africans entering the EU? What are the main countries of origin and destination? The presentation mainly focuses on the more than 5 million citizens of African countries who have moved to Europe during the past 10 years. The analysis is based on data provided by Eurostat and UN DESA. It discusses the discrepancies between public perception, political action, and actual flows as documented in the analysed data. It also tries to assess the future migration potential.
