Dirk Wulff is an incoming Professor of AI and Behavioral Science at the Department of Business Analytics and Decision Science at WU Vienna. He obtained his PhD in Psychology from the University of Basel in 2015 and subsequently held research positions there and at the Center for Adaptive Rationality of the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, where he headed the research area Search and Learning, and with which he remains affiliated. His team studies the relationship between artificial intelligence and behavioral science in both directions: how AI can advance behavioral science, as a research tool for analyzing and modeling human behavior, and how behavioral science can advance the development and evaluation of AI systems through its methodological foundations and data.
