Andrea Tacchella is a senior researcher at CREF, where he works on Economic Fitness&Complexity (EFC), machine learning and innovation.

He has been a Research Fellow at the Institute of Complex Systems of the CNR, where he contributed to the birth and development of the EFC framework, laying its empirical and theoretical foundations. In the same years, Andrea was a consultant for numerous international companies and institutions (Azimut, Shell, Lastminute.com). He collaborated with the World Bank to implement the EFC framework in the Policy field. From 2019 to 2022, he was employed at the Joint Research Center of the European Commission in Seville, promoting the use of EFC among the Commission’s economic analysis tools.
