Amelie Kaupa

Amelie Kaupa joined the Complexity Science Hub as a Research Assistant.

Amelie is working as a research assistant for the project “Opportunity in Crisis: Empowering Ukrainian Refugees to Rebuild the Ukrainian Economy” led by Ljubica Nedeloska.

In this project, she is responsible for reaching out to displaced Ukrainians in Germany and Austria and assessing the obstacles they face when integrating into the German and Austrian labor markets.

She is currently studying PPE in her third year at CEU and will start a year abroad at LSE in September. This is supported by her scholarship at the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation. As an extension of this project, she is deeply interested in questions of social inequality, merit, and policies of redistribution.

Previously, she worked as a writer on a policy brief covering inclusive policies for climate-induced migration, in cooperation with SEEK, the feminist research network. She was also deeply engaged in the African German Youth Weeks hosted by the BMZ, where they developed policy recommendations for the new Africa strategy of the Ministry for Development Cooperation. For her social engagement in this field, she was awarded the Elmar von Trauwitz award in her hometown.
